Summary

Designed and manufactured a small-scale air motor. Created models for many of the parts working backwards from the constraints of the components to design items such as the shaft, base, or crank disc before manufacturing & assembling. Followed and interpreted the routings, operation sheets, and drawings.

Completed in fall of 2024 for an introductory engineering class. Provided my first experience with SolidWorks to draft components, construct an assembly, and make engineering drawings. Then the class went into a pseudo-factory mode where we all collaborated in different stations of a production line to create the 30 air motors for our competition.

If I recall correctly, the parts I selected to make my air motor were not the most tolerant and I didn't implement any sort of grease so when using compressed air to check the motor’s RPM, it didn't perform very well...
